Alexander Lukashenko and Pakistani Premier discuss bilateral cooperation at One Belt, One Way forum in Beijing

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko is taking part in the One Belt, One Way forum in Beijing. The large scale summit opened on May 14, 2017 in the Chinese state conference center. Leaders of 29 countries arrived in China. Alexander Lukashenko had a possibility to talk to some of them.

“One Belt, One Way” are the words pronounced more than one hundred times a minute in nearly all the languages here. More than four thousand journalists are in the press center of the forum. The summit is broadcasted on TV channels, to radio and information agencies.

These are the first shots of the official meeting the journalists got on the 14th of May. Alexander Lukashenko is to the right of the President of China.


The interest of journalists proves that the forum is expected. Representatives of mass media of the Silk Way countries are present at the forum. All of them are speaking about the benefits the project will bring to ordinary citizens.

It is truly a historical event. Pakistan is very happy to be part of it. This project is not beneficial for China only, but for all the countries taking part in the project.

I heard many concrete suggestions at the forum. Issues concerning combating terrorism, corruption and poverty were discussed. It was emphasized that the Chinese bank will invest money towards combating this and towards the development of the infrastructure of the countries participating in the project.

The opening speech of Xi Jinping, the President of the People’s Republic of China, marked the start of the forum.

The One Belt, One Way forum is a unique platform to meet with colleagues and discuss not only the issues of global cooperation, but of regional cooperation as well.

Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko and Pakistani Premier Muhammad Nawaz Sharif discussed the realization of joint projects and the strengthening of trade and economic relations of Belarus and China.

I would like to thank you for remembering the details and even the nuances of our meeting in Minsk. If God and Allah let us, we will once again in August in Minsk. You are welcome in Belarus. However, I want to your visit to last longer, so that I can show you not only the possibilities in the production sector, the main directions of Belarus-Pakistan cooperation, but the beauty of this piece of land in the center of Europe. I invite you together with your family to Belarus. We will have things to discuss during your visit.
