Aliaksandra Herasimenia: I brought medals from two Olympics, but some say it's not enough

The swimmer Aliaksandra Herasimenia has reacted to the Belarus President's criticism of Belarusian athletes. She expressed her opinion in the TV talk show “What Is Going On?” on the Belarus-Russia channel.

There are no complaints when it comes to you, you brought a medal. But you are also part of the team, and maybe take it personal. Is this a fair assessment? Was that a failure? Disgusting results?

Aliaksandra Herasimenia, Olympic medalist (Rio de Janeiro, 2016):
In fact this is the second Olympics at which I win medals and it's the second Olympics that is considered unsatisfactory. Of course, for me personally it is somewhat insulting, because I consider my performance quite successful. Maybe not 100% successful but I fulfilled my "minimum program." Maybe these guys could not reach a higher level, maybe they could have performed a bit better at the Olympics, at least they could enter semi-finals and finals. But given that this decline in results happened with the whole team I think we should be looking not only at the team.

Still these guys were preparing in the some places, they had the same training camps and maybe we should also ask our leadership why that decline happened.
