Belarus pins medal hopes on freestyle and biathlon at 2018 Olympics

Belarusian athletes are planning to win about 30 licenses to participate in the Winter Olympics in the Republic of Korea. President of the National Olympic Committee Alexander Lukashenko earlier signed the official application for participation of Team Belarus in the XXIII Games.

The Olympics will be held from 9 to 25 February 2018. Seven sports will be represented, including 15 winter disciplines.

Anatoly Kotov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus:
Naturally, our main hopes are traditionally freestyle and biathlon. But we also believe that our speed skaters will live up to our hopes too. We expect that at this winter Olympics we will see Belarus taking part in both high-speed running, short track, and even figure skating.

Preparation for the Olympics in Belarus has already begun. Contracts have been signed for the equipping of athletes and coaches, a ticket program is being worked on. Now the NOC is taking care of technical and medical equipment of the Belarusian delegation.
