Canada see off Belarus 6:0 at IIHF WM 2017

The miracle did not happen. The Canadian team inflicted the third defeat on Belarus at the 2017 World Championships in Paris.

The Maple Leaves scored six unanswered goals: one in the first period, two in the second and three in the third. Braiden Point and Nathan McKinnon. Jeff Skinner and Claude Giroux netted once each.

Prior to this, Belarus lost narrowly to Finland 2:3 and suffered a 1:6 defeat against the Czechs.

The good news is that manager Dave Lewis' Belarus have already met with the most formidable opponents in the group. In the future matches, they are to face Swiss, French, Slovenes and Norwegians, who are approximately equal to Belarus in terms of ranking and class.
