Belarusians win four medals at International Conference of Young Scientists in Stuttgart

One gold and three bronzes were brought by Belarusian schoolchildren from Stuttgart, where the XXIV international conference of young scientists was held. 150 students from 26 countries represented their research in physics, mathematics, informatics and ecology. The presentation was in English. The students of the Minsk Gymnasium No 41 received gold for a report on mathematics.

Andrei Shvedov, winner of the international conference of young scientists:
There is such a term, called Heronian triangle. It is a triangle, all sides of which are integers. We introduced our definition not only for a triangle, but also for an arbitrary polygon. And we used it in the title of our work.

Nikolay Sheshko, winner of the international conference of young scientists:
The jury evaluated our work, judging by the medal. And we communicated with them. It was also very interesting. We received lots of interesting comments.

Leonid Lavrynovich, mathematics teacher, gymnasium No. 41 in Minsk:
Now, to win at international conferences, we must already make reports on the verge of higher mathematics. Solve some problems. In order to achieve such results, it is, of course, necessary to have a good mathematical basis. Without such a basis, there is nothing to do at an international conference.

Three other pupils, from Gomel, Grodno and Slutsk, took away bronze medals. A victory at a conference of such a level gives schoolchildren the right to enter any profile university of Belarus without exams.
