Unique quest for tourists in Grodno

Unique quest for tourists in Grodno To take a photo on the background of a sight or find out the peculiarities of Belarusian cuisine. An original quest for tourist was developed by students in Grodno.

A special set of postcards are the principal of the game. Images of the Church of St. Boris and Gleb, Old Grodno Castle, and Grodno Drama Regional Theatre are the cover images of the postcards. The other side of the postcards has tasks to fulfill as to find a certain place by using a map, to take an autograph from a street musician or to try Belarusian draniki (shallow-fried pancakes of grated or ground potato, flour and egg, often flavored with grated garlic or onion and seasoning).

Tourists will find useful addresses on postcards as well. One of the postcards will stay empty so it can be sent to a friend through Postcrossing.

Anton Sharankevich, student of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno:
We understood that due to the visa free regime many tourists are visiting Grodno and Grodno region, and they need to be entertained somehow. We decided to catch their interest by introducing these unusual postcards. We decided to set up a quest in the postcards so that at the end of the trip tourists have a travel book for Grodno.

Grodno students want their idea to develop. They are working on realizing the postcards through souvenir shops. The unique adventure game caught travel agencies’ attention. The authors of the idea are sure that it’s a convenient and interesting way of learning about the beauties of the city.
