It is expected that Alexander Lukashenko will visit China in May. The upcoming visit of President Lukashenko to China was discussed in the Belarusian Government during Prime Minister’s meeting with the Chinese parliamentary delegation on April 18, 2017.
The two sides discussed specific possibilities for increasing mutual trade.
Andrei Kobyakov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
During Alexander Lukashenko’s last year’s visit to China, a joint declaration on establishment of a new level of bilateral relations, of credible, comprehensive, strategic partnership and of mutually beneficial cooperation was signed. Now it is important to tighten up economic relations to a high level of cooperation. That is why a range of economic issues is suggested to be discussed.
As it was stated, today’s meeting is a good possibility to discuss economic relations on the threshold of the Belt and Road international forum, in which Belarus will be taking part in May.
