Zhang Dejiang: Chinese-Belarusian relations rising to the next level

Deepening of political dialogue between Belarus and China and the successful implementation of joint initiatives are the topics discussed in Minsk during the visit of a representative parliamentary delegation from Beijing.

On April 15, talks were held at the Council of the Republic. The sides identified priorities of further cooperation on a range of projects. In the center of attention was, of course, "The economic Belt of the Silk Road", which gem is the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park "Great Stone".

The Chinese delegation included nearly 30 foreign guests headed by Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhang Dejiang.

The negotiations were so intense that they lasted one hour longer than it was expected.

Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus:
We will focus on deepening the political dialogue, inter-parliamentary cooperation, the implementation of joint economic and investment projects.

Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress:
Chinese-Belarusian relations are rising to the next level. We signed a joint declaration on cooperation between the two parliaments and emphasize the importance of exchange of experience in the legal field. It is also necessary to provide each other with the strong support and continuously enrich the content of the strategic partnership between China and Belarus.

And this is perhaps the most vivid example of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation.

The Chinese delegation presented brand new Geely cars to the Belarusian parliament.

Chairman of the upper chamber Mikhail Myasnikovich personally tested the car's capabilities.

Zhang Dejiang is the third most important person in China. This is his first visit to Belarus. The program of the visit was so rich that the visit was scheduled to last three days. In addition to economic and political issues the Chinese delegation found time to pay tribute to Belarus' history, laying a wreath at the Victory Monument in the center of Minsk, which is erected to commemorate the Victory over Nazism and WWII victims.

Great Stone is also the pearl of the economic belt of the Silk Road. Just a few days ago, another resident registered with the industrial park: on 15 April, the first stone was laid to the foundation of the future plant which will produce Belarusian-Chinese machinery. In general, four companies with eastern capital are building their facilities in the park.

Kiryl Rudy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the People's Republic of China:
As part of our park, we plan to create a subpark. It will be a manufacturer of LED products. Guangdong Province, which is twinned with Minsk Region, is the world's largest supplier of LED products. And they would like to place production facilities here to export products to the EU.

We are working on another interesting project - joint creation of firefighting robots.
