Belarus and Hungary intend to improve cattle genetics

Belarus and Hungary intend to implement several major projects in pharmaceuticals and agriculture. Minsk is hosting a joint business forum on April 11. It is attended by representatives of a dozen major companies.

Guests from Budapest are interested in cooperation with Belarusian businessmen. One of the most promising projects is in the field of agriculture. The sides would like to breed cattle with improved genetics.

Jozsef Kovacs, director for CIS cooperation, Chamber of Commerce in Budapest:
We want to bring here good Hungarian geneticists and reproduce bovines here because the demand for them in the CIS countries and Russia is quite large. We can grow them here.

In the foreseeable future, many enterprises of the two countries expect to organize a full-fledged industrial cooperation. This will undoubtedly give impetus to the development of mutual trade. Now it is almost $200 million a year.
