Belarusian TV channels will broadcast via national satellites. These plans were voiced at the National Academy of Sciences on April 10. The project will be implemented in cooperation with Russian and European counterparts. Now foreign experience to create such a satellite is being studied.
Petr Vityaz, chief of staff of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, academician, doctor of technical sciences:
The challenge, of course, is to extend work in the field of communications and remote sensing, so we are working on a new satellite with better parameters. The greatest effect is in the development of communications technology, because today we are talking about television, radio and telephones in this respect. This is in demand worldwide, these areas are the fastest-growing and are covering more and more space.
Belarus first announced its presence in space in 2012. Back then it launched its earth remote sensing device. In 2016, in cooperation with Chinese experts, Belarus successfully launched the first Belarusian communication satellite.
