Alexander Shamko: Belarus takes unprecedented steps for tourism development

Half of the places in hotels by the Augustow Canal and Belovezhskaya Pushcha have been booked for the coming summer season. The attention of foreigners towards these places grows due to the possibility to visit them without visas.

After the introduction of the five-day visa free regime, nearly 8,000 tourists came to Belarus through Minsk National Airport.

Alexander Shamko, Minister of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus:
I suppose that unprecedented steps are taken in Belarus for tourism development. This visa free regime is a possibility to visit Belarus during a period of five days. There is growth of export, private capital flow, which is leveraged into tourism. It certainly makes Belarus more attractive.

All the possibilities of Belarusian tourism were presented in Minsk on April 5, 2017. A specialized exhibition was held for the 20th time. As many as 150 companies from more than 20 countries participate in the exhibition this year. Among the traditional tourist destinations, new countries are presented as well. Among them is Albania.

Natalia Dienok, travel agent:
The popularity of destinations increase with every year. More and more tourists go abroad every year. The good thing is that tourists tend to fly from Mink more often now.

The possibilities of a holiday in Belarus are also presented at the main spring tourism forum. Health resorts, agro farms and camping sites present their achievements as well.
