Tourists will be able to stay in Belarus without visas longer, said the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.
Over 8,000 people visited Belarus visa-free through the National Airport Minsk since the introduction of the visa-free regime on February 12, 2017.
As a result, more business conferences and business forums, cultural and sporting events are now held in the Belarus capital.
Alexander Shamko, Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus:
Activities in tourism range from business and medical to historical and cultural - a whole lot of them... We have an increasing number of new projects. I judge by sport, the sports component.
The number of international sports events has exceeded 80 this year.
By the way, guests of the European Games 2019, which will be held in Belarus, may be granted additional benefits. Although even now Belarus simplifies the issuance of visas for participants of major sporting events.
Ekaterina Kashuba, seller of souvenirs:
More people started coming, they are more interested in souvenir goods. Foreigners started buying more souvenirs. They walk, look around and get interested.
Export of travel services in 2016 has already brought the Belarusian budget 160 million dollars.
It is expected that by the end of 2017, the figure will be even more impressive.
