Belarusian, Russian presidents to meet on April 3

The oil and gas problem in the relations between Belarus and Russia will be resolved, said on March 30 Russian ambassador to Belarus Alexander Surikov.

The diplomat has also announced the meeting of the Presidents of Belarus and Russia. It will be held on April 3 in St. Petersburg. The heads of state, according to the ambassador, will discuss the topical issues of Belarusian-Russian relations, as well as the development of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Alexander Surikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus:
The Russian President, Mr Putin, said visiting Kyrgyzstan that Russia and Belarus are the fraternal peoples, and any disputes, including oil and gas ones, will be resolved and we will come to a universal understanding. Do you remember the words of the President of the Republic of Belarus? He said both presidents would meet and find a solution to all problems. These are signals that allow us to hope that we will emerge from these uncoordinated actions in the field of gas and oil and come to a consensus that satisfies both sides.

April 2 is the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia. Today, the parties recognize that the Union State is the most advanced integration project in the post-Soviet space.
