Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
We cooperate in many areas. The major indicator is always the trade turnover. And the fact that we have in the recent five years achieved a turnover in goods and services of $300 million is of great importance. And we gradually growing in this regard. We have found solution to many issues in trade in this difficult time. I think that moving in this direction, we will still do a lot on the Turkmen land. Thank you for helping us build the embassy here and open it. After we opened the embassy in Minsk, I see it every day, because I pass it when going to the city residence. A beautiful white marble building, a spirit of Ashgabat. I want to assure you that we are willing to share with you our experience in education, beginning from primary school to staff.
You should know that you have good and reliable friends in the middle of Europe.
Following the talks, Belarus and Turkmenistan signed 11 documents on cooperation in various spheres. The leaders have issued a joint statement in which the parties confirmed their readiness to cooperate in various fields.
Today in Ashkhabad the two presidents attended the opening ceremony of the Belarusian embassy.
