Problematic issues in all regions of Belarus will be studied by representatives of three ministries. Working groups of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, as well as Construction and Architecture Ministry will meet with heads of districts and organizations, visit enterprises, hold talks with representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.
They will look into opportunities for job creation, wage growth, investment attraction and construction.
Pavel Utyupin, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Belarus:
Yesterday we visited the Kirov and Bykhov districts - these are primarily agricultural areas. The same Bykhov district forms 41% of its revenues thanks to agriculture. In particular, these areas are rich in forest and here we could create deeper processing.
Viktor Nekrashevich, Deputy Chairman of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee:
We see reserves in attracting more investors, who would structurally change the economic system of the Mogilev region in terms of industrial production, I mean to increase the service sector.
This is the goal of the 9th International Investment Forum, which will be held in Bobruisk in 2017.
After the visits to Belarus' regions, the working groups will offer the government a detailed strategy for regional development.
