Customs suppress contraband on Belarus-Poland border

Grodno Regional Customs suppressed an attempt of fire arms import in the territory of the Republic of Belarus. The contraband was disclosed at the checkpoint “Bruzgi”.

A Lithuanian citizen with two other passengers was heading for Belarus from Poland. During the customs control a revolver was found beneath a Russian citizen’s coat. The car was inspected as well. As many as 46 ball cartridges, a case shot, a hanger and the 1941 edition of “Mein Kampf”. The extremist book is forbidden in many countries.

Sergei Mazyrko, chief of Grodno Regional Customs department:
As a result of an expertise, it was confirmed that the bullets are ball cartridges and are applicable to a Browning gun. A case shot was found as well.

A criminal case has been initiated against the citizen of the Russian Federation. He may face up to seven years of prison.
