Sweden blank Belarus in World Cup 2018 qualifier

The coach of Belarus has changed but the result remained the same. The Belarus national football team lost 0:4 against Sweden in an away World Cup qualifying match.

Manager Igor Kriushenko's Belarus were fruitless in attack and very vulnerable in defense. As a result they conceded four goals. Two of them were scored by Emil Forsberg. In the first case he scored from a penalty, while the second was due to the fault of Andrey Gorbunov.

The third goal of the Belarusian team was again because of Gorbunov's mistake. However, as shown by the replay, the refs were wrong to say that this goal stands. Isaac Kiese Thelin added a fourth. This time, the goalkeeper was not to blame; the defense were poor.

Thus, the Belarusian team is penultimate in Group A, ahead of only Luxemburg, with a goal difference of 2:10.

In other Group A matches, Bulgaria unexpectedly beat the Netherlands, while France did not have problems beating Luxemburg.
