Molotov cocktail thrown at tax inspection building in Belarus' Gomel

The Investigative Committee of Belarus has opened a criminal case after unknown persons threw a Molotov cocktail at the tax office building in Gomel. The criminal case is based on the article "Deliberate damage to property in publicly dangerous way". The crime was committed on March 24 in the morning.

Attackers threw a Molotov cocktail in the inspection office’s window.

A department employee found the broken glass. During the inspection of the scene, law enforcement officers took glass pieces and fabric with a smell of fuel and lubricants, which became the fuse.

Sergey Kabakovich, the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus:
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on grounds of a crime stipulated by Article 218 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

This is intentional damage to property in a publicly dangerous way.

Expert studies will be carried out, including a fire-technical examination and an examination of the remains of fuels and lubricants.

The attackers could face up to 10 years in prison.
