Belarusian products were used for French culinary masterpieces, which were prepared on March 21 in Minsk. Participants of the international gastronomic festival, 10 Belarusian restaurants and a cooking school, masterly prepared unique dishes from Belarusian potatoes, meat and dairy products.
It is noteworthy that the festival brought together more than 2,000 chefs in 150 countries on five continents.
Didier Canesse, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Belarus:
Belarusian cuisine is traditional folk cuisine. This is the ability to cook delicious meals from simple products, the ability to consume food in different forms (like berries and mushrooms). We are pleased that interest in this cooking event is growing in Belarus.
This year the number of participating restaurants is three times more than last time.
Marc Ulrich, chef:
French dishes can be prepared from Belarusian products. Duck is very good, very fat... This is the very first salad of the year. Well, bacon... Belarus, of course, has the best bacon.
Under the culinary competition rules, the chefs had to cook French cuisine dishes with a minimum of fat, sugar and salt.
The gourmet menu included steak, cheeses, fish dishes and desserts.
