Military transport aircraft Il-76 goes into service in Belarus' air forces

Military transport aircraft Il-76 passes into Belarus' air forces service

A modernized military transport aircraft Il-76 (a multi-purpose four-engine turbofan strategic airlifter designed by the Soviet Union's Ilyushin design bureau) was passed into service to the military air forces of the Republic of Belarus.

Today Il-76 has a satellite navigation complex combined with the autopilot.

The modernized aircraft also received early-warning systems of hitting land or other aircrafts.

Andrei Lukyanovich, air base commander:
We practically received a completely new aircraft after structural overhaul manual. It is a very successful model by the Soviet Union's Ilyushin design bureau. It has big potential and high reliability.

It makes it possible to modernize this aircraft, allowing high operational capability.

What is important today is that this aircraft assures high level of flight safety.

The aircraft was modernized in Ryazan, Russia. The changes made the flying technique of the aircraft lighter and increased the pilot’s safety level; the flight geography was expanded as well.
