Angela Merkel: I am glad that President Trump supports Minsk ceasefire agreements

The most discussed subject in the world of politics today is the dialogue between the USA and the EU. The first meeting of US President Donald Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel took place in Washington. The leaders discussed a set of questions; they talked about NATO, combating terrorism and the crisis in Eastern Ukraine.

Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany:
The US Administration and President Trump personally support Minsk Ceasefire Agreements. We need to solve this problem.

We all want for Ukraine to be strong and sovereign.

Donald Trump, President of the USA:
I highly appreciate the leadership of Chancellor Merkel and the President of France concerning the matter of resolving the conflict in Ukraine, where a peaceful solution is being searched for. It is very important for both the USA and Germany to continue cooperating on the way of combating and eliminating terror groups.

The political leaderS met in person. However, during the electoral campaign President Trump repeatedly accused Angela Merkel of conducting a devastating, to his mind, migration policy in Germany (the issue of disorderly acceptance of refugees). In her turn Chancellor Merkel

accused the new American leader of his rigorous policy of deportation.

Nevertheless, experts stated that the negotiations were held in a positive atmosphere.
