Teachers will be assigned high teaching degrees on the spot. An updated version of the Education Code of the Republic of Belarus is now being drawn up. The Code won’t bring cardinal changes for the younger generation. Nevertheless, some changes will be made to the working process. School programs and plans will be improved; the work on ongoing education will strengthen its positions.
The relevant agency is considering the idea of creating electronic books. Public discussions were held when the Code was drawn up. All the opinions have been included.
Igor Karpenko, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus:
If a teacher today wants to obtain a higher teaching degree, he or she needs to get special permission from the education minister. Is it a necessity? I suppose that they know it better on the spot, in certain schools, in certain education departments they know the teacher better, the quality of work and the teacher’s activities.
The latest research on the Belarusian education system hasn’t detected any painful problems. Specialists are planning to pay more attention to the educational process, practical training and employment in schools.
