Belarus may export MAZ buses to Israel

Belarus hopes to increase investment and trade with Israel. This matter was discussed in Minsk at a meeting of the joint trade and economic cooperation committee.

Last year, Belarus-Israel trade amounted to $93 million and this is not the limit. Belarus sells to Israel building materials, metal casting products and food.

Israel exports to Belarus drugs, herbicides and technological equipment. Special attention is paid to co-promotion of manufactured goods to the markets of third countries.

Mikhail Rusyi, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
In 2016, we started to study possible export of MAZ buses to the Israeli market. And I would very much like to see us in a very short time riding Belarusian buses on the beautiful land of Israel. And after some time Belarus would like to see 40-50% of these buses equipped with Israeli technologies. It would turn into our joint product.

Sofa Landver, Minister of Immigrant Absorption of Israel:
In economic terms, both for Israel and the Belarusian side have something to offer each other. This relates to trade and agriculture, medicine and, of course, tourism.

Tourism remains one of the priority areas of cooperation. A visa-free regime between the two countries has been in force for more than a year. Minsk and Tel Aviv are connected by regular flights which popularity is growing steadily.
