The electoral campaign of the fifth convocation to the Youth Chamber under Minsk city council has come to its end.
On March 11, 2017, the single voting day, Minsk scholars elected future parliamentarians of their age at more than 60 ballot stations.
What is more, only participants of panels formed by educational establishments had the right to vote. This was for the first time.
Margarita Kozlova, parliamentary candidate to the Youth Chamber of the city council:
To be quite honest, I have many ideas. If I get voted into the Chamber, it will all depend on the committee I will be working in. Special events should be held to encourage improvements and to develop tourism (by developing tourism we develop economy).
The elections to the Chamber were held in three stages, which included the registration of a candidate, five-day voting on the internet and the election day itself. As many as five applicants per place were at the last convocation.
The results of the elections will be announced on March 13, 2017.
