Wives of ambassadors to Belarus meet in Minsk

On the eve of March 8, Belarus' foreign minister's wife met with the wives of heads of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations in Minsk.

The meeting took place at the center for contemporary art. During the informal meeting, the spouses of diplomats did not speak about politics, but discussed children, family and the hospitality of the Belarusian land.

Vera Polyakova-Makei, wife of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus:
I want to talk to them, ask how was their year, whether their children are fine, how they are doing in general, what the situation in their countries is. I want our people to live in peace. I believe that Belarus is the very center of the world, because we are very good, peace-loving people.

Andrea Wiktorin, head of the European Union delegation to the Republic of Belarus:
I am very happy to return to Belarus. I'm impressed with how things have changed. I am very happy here. I love Minsk, I love your pancakes and Belarusian people.

Asria Haj Saleh, wife of the Syrian Arab Republic ambassador to the Republic of Belarus:
I've lived in Belarus for three years and I really like it here. Belarusians, like Syrians, are open-minded people, always willing to help if you have any problems. Belarus for me is like a second home.

Foreign ladies were congratulated on International Women's Day, and they were presented with jewelry and watches of Belarusian brands. Then the ladies attended a fashion show of clothes. Modern Belarusian designers presented their collections on the podium.
