A century for the benefit of Minsk. Former chairman of the Minsk city executive committee Vasily Sharapov died aged 100.
A few months ago, the leadership of the city, former colleagues and associates congratulated Vasily Sharapov on his hundredth anniversary.
He was a bright, energetic and very friendly person. His name is forever inscribed in the history of the Belarusian capital. He was Minsk mayor for over 13 years and had to restore the destroyed city after WWII.
In 2014, he was awarded the title of Citizen of Minsk year of The Year. In 2016, Vasily Sharapov became honorary citizen of Minsk.
