Delegations from 16 countries have arrived in Minsk to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Belarusian police. Celebrations are being held on March 3.
The ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at the monument to police officers and servicemen of Interior Ministry troops who died on duty finished just a few minutes ago.
The pre-anniversary day will end with a festive meeting and concert at the Palace of the Republic.
The actual celebration day will be tomorrow on March 4. It is on this very day in 1917 that the history of Belarusian police began.
The tsarist police was replaced in Minsk by people's police, headed by Mikhail Frunze. Today Belarus is among the ten countries with the lowest crime levels and highest safety. According to the results of opinion polls, about 70% of Belarusians trust the police and are ready to provide all possible assistance to it.
