Belarus is ready to share experience with Vietnam in the field of law enforcement, said March 2 President Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting with the Minister of Public Security of Vietnam Tô Lâm.
That country is one of a number of priority partners of Belarus in the Asian region. Today, Vietnam is developing rapidly, including economically.
This growth, according to the Belarus President, is largely due to the stability and security in the country. According to Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus and Vietnam need to join efforts in the fight against crime and terrorism.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
I want to assure you that we will do everything to ensure that Vietnam remains stable and secure. We are ready to transfer experience to our friends in Vietnam. I think you and the Minister have agreed on this. You should know that in this respect, you will find support, both mine and at the government level. I understand that the main thing is people, personnel. If you are satisfied that the training system that exists in Belarus, we are ready to do everything to move some elements or the whole of this system to Vietnamese soil.
Tô Lâm, Minister of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam:
Mr. President, I thank you for the opportunity to visit Belarus during this solemn event - the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. I would also like to note that this year we celebrate 25 years since the founding of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Vietnam. We are pleased to note that the high-level visits give a special impetus to the development of cooperation between our countries.
This meeting is taking place on the eve of the 100th anniversary of Belarusian police. The two countries have long established close contacts in the field of law enforcement. Cooperation is established in the field of training, too.
For example, several groups of Vietnamese specialists have undergone training at the Dog Training Centre in Belarus. Vietnamese colleagues are also welcome at the Police Academy of Belarus.
