Belarusian National Assembly and the German Bundestag will step up work to normalize relations. On March 1, German MPs met with members of Belarus' upper chamber - the Council of the Republic.
The sides believe that the inter-parliamentary dialogue will not only contribute to the strengthening of political dialogue, but also add dynamism to economic cooperation.
Johann David Wadephul, deputy chairman of the German-Belarusian Parliamentary Group of the German Bundestag:
Belarus is part of the European community of values. We want to intensify our relations. Of course, this will lead to an economic restart, attracting of German investors. They should understand that Belarus is an interesting area for investment, personally, I always advise German entrepreneurs to come to work in the Belarusian market.
The parliamentarians discussed cooperation in international organizations. In particular, Minsk supports Berlin's approaches to the strengthening of stability in the OSCE region.
By the way, Minsk will host the summer session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in July.
