Vitebsk Museum of Militia was opened on 28 February, 2017. There are three halls, where you can follow the entire history of Vitebsk militia, from the governorate times of the city to the present day. Apart from photographs, documents and awards, a reconstructed cabinet of district militia chief of the BSSR and the working place of a controller of the 1970’s can be seen in the museum.

You can even take photos with weapons and mannequins in militiaman uniform. You can touch and try on most of the showpieces.

Vasiliy Ivanyushchenko, veteran of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus:
Not only veterans will come here, but meetings with young specialists will also be held. We speak about the heroism of militia officers, about the pre-war and post war, and modern times.

Viktor Dubovets, Deputy Interior Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
There is no present without the past, and certainly there is no future without it. And it is memory for young specialists, who will enter service at one time.
