Belarusian MPs would like to form a positive image of Belarus abroad. This was announced on February 27 at the lower house of the Belarus parliament following the winter session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna.
In recent years, Belarus-EU relations have become much warmer, including through a balanced policy of the Belarusian side. In addition, MPs are confident that Europe has a lot of serious problems these days, which it is best to solve together. At the same time, it is Belarus that is a donor of regional stability.
Valery Voronetsky, chairman of international affairs commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus:
Europe today has a lot of acute and complex problems that we all need to address together. And in this sense, Belarus is a donor to regional stability. The European Union understands it clearly. The system of decision-making in the European Union is very complicated and time-consuming. Therefore, sometimes it is very difficult to all member states of the European Union to reach a common solution. This is a problem. And you see the reaction of the EU member states to particular actions of Brussels. It is not always unambiguous. And it creates a certain tension in the European Union.
