Belarus Premier: The “per square metre price” of accommodations to come up with average salary

The “per square metre price” of accommodations should come up with the average salary of a Belarusian during the next three years. This was said by Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov on February 24, 2017.

The head of government visited an integrated house-building factory, where technologies permit to build commercial housing for no more than 600 BYN per square metre, and social housing is 15 % cheaper. These are the lowest house prices in Belarus. Such experience of modernization is a landmark for other building companies in Belarus. And during a credit interest rate decline, an owner-occupied flat will become more affordable.

Andrei Kobyakov, Belarus Prime Minister:
There is a tendency today with all the backgrounds for the interest rates to be reduced down to 11-12 % in the next couple of years, and by the end of the five-year plan down to 10-11%. In that case an ordinary average-sized family with a medium income of two working adults will be able to build a one-bedroom flat by taking a loan at interest of 10% per annum. It is a normal standard.

The Prime Minister also got acquainted with the reconstruction of the Regional children’s Hospital. This building activity was set by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko. At the moment pavilions for new-born babies and a surgery department are being built. The first patients are to be seen in the middle of 2018.
