Decisions on Russian gas for Belarus were taken and will be coordinated at the political level, said the Minister of Energy of Belarus.
On February 24, the ministry sums up the work over the past year. One of the most discussed topics in 2016 was the oil and gas issues with Russia.
In this regard, the Belarusian side insists on the fulfillment of all the rules that are laid down in the agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).
Here one of the main conditions is the creation of equal opportunities for economic entities of all EEU member states.
Vladimir Potupchik, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus:
By 1 July 2019 we planned to create a common electricity market, and by 1 January 2025 the common gas market. In order to do this we need to bring as close as possible gas prices, which is what we are now doing. Everything that is done in this part has been communicated to the public by the main negotiators. All further steps depend on political decisions to be taken at the highest level.
