Maslenitsa in Minsk

Maslenitsa is a sensational festival, which is celebrated according to ancient traditions. We have prepared a list of places to visit and taste pancakes.

The major fair is on February 25th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. near the Palace of Sports. Folk music concerts, advertising actions, prize drawings and tastings will take place. Diverse menu includes pancakes, small sausages, shish-kebabs, Belarusian machanka, and brisket meat.

The best Belarusian cooks will participate in the contest “Pancakes for Maslenitsa”.

Sunny and sweet program Sunny-DAY “Festive Maslenitsa” is on February 26th in the entertainment center KaZki in the waterpark Lebyazhy. Each child gets a free coupon to the water zone for three hours. Custom-made crumpets, games and contests in keeping with the best Slavonic traditions are waiting for you.

Maslenitsa in Dinozavria welcomes visitors on February 26th.

Fabulous entertaining program with contests, folk games and ceremonials are organized. Talking dinosaurs, fiery show Kresiva and disco are waiting for your child.

The festive program “Great Maslenitsa” takes place on February 26th at 1 p.m. in the restaurant brewery Druzya.

Their program includes special pancake menu, folk festivals, music, burning the effigy, partners’ gifts and an exhibition fair.

Folk open-air “Maslenitsa” is on February 25th from 12 to 4 p.m. in the Museum of Architecture.

The NAVI band and other music groups will sing. The puppet show Batleyka, games for all ages, workshops, ceremonials and contests are expected to take place.

You may eat at a tavern, go horse riding, fly a helicopter or a hot air balloon at additional charge. Also burning the effigy is promised.

“Generous Maslenitsa” in the Botanic Garden will be held on February 25th.

Open-air festival, pancakes, clowns, Gypsies with bears, folk companies, amusements and traditional Slavonic games (Tag of war, Ice Pillar). Winners will be given awards. The fiery show and burning the effigy will close the program.

“Maslenitsa together” is on February 26th at 11 a.m. in the child center Tukituk, which is at 9 Gazety Pravda Avenue.

Tag of war, games Thread the Needle and Game with the Sun are held outside. Theatrical performance, contests, quizzes, workshops on averters making and tasty pancakes take place inside.

Maslenitsa in Dudutki has turned into a tradition.

On February 25th and 26th there are expected to be songs, dances, archery, competitions on legerity and force. Burn the effigy and dance around the bonfire!

The picnic-hotel Expedition in the Oktyabr village of the Logoysk district organizes “Great Maslenitsa” on February 25th at 12 p.m.

The scope of the events is so large that it is impossible to visit all of them in one day. Which one to choose? Theatrical performance or contests and lottery games? Siberian or Japanese saunas? Rink on the lake or quad biking? Adventure park or tubing? There are events for everyone.

“Royal Maslenitsa” will take place in the village of Sula in the Stolbtsy district on February 25th.

Real-time reconstruction of XVI century events, a reconstruction, early music, batleyka, szlachta’s dances create the atmosphere of the ancient Belarus. The program will include ancient entertainments, chief cook’s master class, archery, horse riding, helicopters, ancient Belarusian attractions, Lenskiy’s memorial house and pancakes.

This week you may eat pancakes in almost all restaurants and cafes of Minsk! Taste them with honey, salmon and sausages, caviar or mushroom sauce!
