An exhibition of unique costumes in memory of the famous Pesnyary band of Belarus has opened on February 22 at the National History Museum.
It features sketches of dancers of the legendary ensemble Pesnyary.
Once it started with only 17 works but today it is a large-scale exhibition. Here you can find sketches of costumes in which Pesnyary toured the USA.
Unfortunately, 40 years after, some suits have not survived and remained only on paper.
Each image was thoroughly thought out.
Tatiana Busheva, head of the fund of the Museum of Theatre and Music Culture:
We show costumes of the acting ensemble Pesnyary and took exhibits from the museum of Mulyavin at the Belarusian State Philharmonic. We show not only designs but also photos, music manuscripts of the composer. The name of Mulyavin, the very history of the ensemble Pesnyary is of course very important for Belarus and will attract our audience.
To get inspiration the designers recited poems of Yanka Kupala and listened to the songs of the ensemble.
