CTV journalist awarded for military news coverage

The best journalists covering the life of the Belarusian army have been chosen in Belarus. The results of the annual competition were summed up at the Ministry of Defence.

The creative contest involved more than one hundred applications. Symbolically: The ceremony took place on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, which is celebrated in Belarus on 23 February.

Among the winners is the CTV correspondent Maxim Slizh. The journalist won the nomination "Author's opinion" for a series of television programs on the life and activity of the bodies of military administration, military units and formations of the Armed Forces.

Maxim Slizh, CTV special correspondent:
The most important thing for a journalist is to look carefully at the life and work of all these people at our borders, in military vehicles and with guns. These are true people, not just the military. And when our views coincide somewhere, your main task is to convey the feelings of what is called the Motherland, the duty to the Homeland.

Andrei Ravkov, Defense Minister of the Republic of Belarus:
As the Minister of Defense I am of course interested in the fact that Belarusians know what our armed forces are and what they do. Therefore, today we awarded the best representatives of the media, who objectively, accurately and, most importantly, in easy language cover the activities of the Armed Forces.

Military-patriotic topics in Belarus occupy more than 4,000 publications, around 200 hours of television and more than 410 hours of radio coverage.
