President Petro Poroshenko has appointed a new ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus. The 55-year-old Igor Kizim will now head Ukraine's embassy in Minsk. Prior to that, he worked in the UK.
A native of Kharkov, Kizim was a long-time adviser to Ukraine ambassador to Canada. And in the beginning of the 2010s, he was appointed the Deputy Director of International Security and Disarmament Department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
Igor Kizim is well familiar with Belarus - he served as first secretary of the Ukrainian Embassy in Belarus.
The diplomat will start his duties in the near future.
