Belarusian potatoes are hitting new markets. Uzbekistan became another country to which Belarus will export the vegetable.
Traditionally, Belarus sells potatoes to Russia, but there is demand for it in other countries like Azerbaijan, Moldova and Kazakhstan.
By the way, Belarus is one of the CIS' leading exporters of potato, which is also called "second bread".
According to the National Statistics Committee, Belarus grows 600kg of potatoes per capita a year.
In general, Belarus’ food exports in 2016 amounted to $4.155 billion.
