Belarus, Kazakhstan presidents discuss EEU and bilateral cooperation

A telephone conversation between the Presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan was held February 20 at the initiative of the Kazakh side. One of the main topics discussed by Alexander Lukashenko and Nursultan Nazarbayev were the relations in the Eurasian Economic Union.

The President of Kazakhstan expressed concern about the issues in relations between Russia and Belarus.

At the same time, Mr Nazarbayev is confident that all the existing differences between Minsk and Moscow will be resolved within the union.

In addition, Nazarbayev told the Belarusian head of state about the problems between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan and ways to solve them. The parties also discussed the full range of bilateral cooperation.

Nursultan Nazarbayev also invited Alexander Lukashenko to take part in a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization this summer and visit the exhibition EXPO 2017 in Astana, where Belarus will open its national exposition.

In the telephone conversation, the Presidents reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen the allied relations.
