The ministry of emergencies of Belarus completely ceases checks of small and medium-sized businesses. Now businessmen and managers themselves will be responsible for fire safety.
Such a move is logical since the number of accidents becomes smaller every year. This makes it possible to optimize the work of the ministry. Now the ministry is revising fire safety requirements. They should become more accessible and easier.
Vladimir Vashchenko, Minister for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus:
We will still inspect explosive facilities and places where a lot of people stay such as hostels, hospitals, schools, and kindergartens. But the focus of our work will be more to assist managers in establishing order, advice, training and outreach.
The ministry is now also considering the simplification of licensing system.
