Belarusian authorities to improve election law based on OSCE advice

The main matter at the summer session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Minsk will be the exchange of experience and ideas on topical issues of the day. The Belarusian side is getting ready for a productive discussion.

Now Belarus is improving its electoral legislation based on OSCE recommendations.

OSCE suggestions will soon be summarized by the country's election commission and presented to the Belarus President.

Lidia Yermoshina, Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus:
We have sent a proposal for the implementation of the OSCE recommendations for improving the electoral process taking into account the timing specified by the President. We are waiting for the meeting with the participation of the entire political leadership of the country, in order to work out orders to make appropriate changes to the electoral law.
