Chairman of Pakistan Senate visits Belarus

Last week the Pakistan Senate Chairman and his wife visited Minsk. They had time both to negotiate and have a general impression of Belarus.

Raza Rabbani, the Chairman of Pakistan Senate, has visited Belarus for the first time. Taman, his wife, came with him.

While Mr. Rabbani was learning about the political and industrial side of Belarus, met the President, took part in talks with ministers and concludes contracts, Taman was responsible for the aesthetic and cultural part of the acquaintance with Belarus.

Taman looks at Minsk and its inhabitants from a car window. The wife of the senator is interested in cutting and sewing, so she looks at not only the beauty of the capital but also the appearance of the Belarusian women. Taman visited one of the factories to update her wardrobe.

Taman Rabbani:
There are so many beautiful things. I am impressed. I bought a coat.

Later, Ms. Rabbani admits that she had heard about Belarusian textiles, chocolate, and cosmetics before the arrival in our country.

Taman Rabbani:
Your enterprises impressed me very much. Both the products and production are at the highest level. And we were always so warmly welcomed.

Taman also tasted Belarusian cuisine.

Taman Rabbani:
I really liked Belarusian cuisine, especially chocolate. I love it very much.

But Mian Raza Rabbani did not find time for a walk in Minsk.

Mian Raza Rabbani, Chairman of the Senate of Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan:
Unfortunately, I could not walk around the city. I’ve got a very busy schedule.

Alena Syrova, correspondent:
The Belarusian President has recommended that all tourists visit Bialowieza Forest. Unfortunately, you didn’t get there. Did you have an opportunity to appreciate our nature at least on the way to BelAZ in Zhodino?

Mian Raza Rabbani:
Belarus is known as the lungs of Europe. Your swamps and forests are wonderful. There are a lot of beautiful landscapes and a lot of beautiful people. I would like to return to Belarus in March and April when there will be a lot of flowers around. And of course, Minsk is a big city. The snow didn’t spoil the impression. But it seems to me that the streets will be even more beautiful in a warm season.

Alena Syrova:
Have you tasted Belarusian cuisine?

Mian Raza Rabbani:
Everything is very tasty but not as spicy as we have. It often happens that the food seems tasteless without spices, but your food has so many shades.

Alena Syrova:
Your wife was surprised by the snow and cold weather, and also by the warm hearts of Belarusian people. What came as a surprise to you?

Mian Raza Rabbani:
The warm atmosphere wasn’t the surprise for me. I realized that you are very kind people during the visit of your President.

Alena Syrova:
Is it possible to compare Belarus and Pakistan?

Mian Raza Rabbani:
We equally appreciate the history of our countries. And we commit to keep peace and want to be a happy and developing country.

Alena Syrova:
Alexander Lukashenko spoke of a kind of Belarusian dream. It’s a quiet and comfortable life for Belarusians and the ability to be hospitable. Do you feel like home in Belarus?

Mian Raza Rabbani:
I have a wonderful feeling that I'm home. Minsk is a very safe city. Your people greeted us so warmly and hospitably. I would like to return to Belarus as soon as possible.
