Belarus has established an organizing committee on preparation and holding in Minsk of a session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The corresponding decree was signed by the Belarus President on February 8.
The annual, 26th meeting of the organization will take place in July. The organizing committee is instructed to hold it at the highest level. The committee is headed by the chairman of the House of Representatives. More than 300 parliamentarians from 56 countries will arrive in Minsk.

Such activities are very important in that they can improve the country's image. I think we can show to our country, our capabilities, our culture. A large-scale plenary meeting, meetings of the standing committee as well as committees on general policy, security, economy, environment, democracy and human rights will take place during the OSCE PA. It will be a discussion of the whole range of issues that concern Europe today.
