Alexander Lukashenko urges not to politicize Belarusian NPP construction

Alexander Lukashenko urges not to politicize the construction of the Belarusian NPP, said the President at a meeting with representatives of the public, Belarusian and foreign media.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
I tell Lithuanians: why are you fighting against us? We are not complaining shouting about your dangerous Ignalina station, which you are closing. God knows what happens; this is the worst station in the world! We understand you and do not shout about it. They agree and then in public they begin to politicize the issue. But we must simply discard and forget politics. Economy will still come into play eventually: when they have cheap electricity, then we will agree.

The President added that Lithuanian specialists can work at the station too. But most importantly: Belarus is ready to sell to Lithuania the energy produced at the Belarusian NPP at normal prices.

Alexander Lukashenko said that the Belarusian NPP will be the cheapest, but at the same time reliable. Russia is building this station, a nuclear power. It is in Russia's interests to build a good station to demonstrate a new generation of nuclear power plants - the safest ones.
