Foreigners arriving on visa-free regime at Minsk National Airport will be checked through a special database of Belarus and Russia.
National Airport Minsk was chosen as a visa-free gateway to Belarus for a reason. Here border services use a special security system, as well as border and customs control is especially tight.
Currently Belarus and Russia exchange data at the level of all services, including in the framework of the Union State.
Alexander Tishchenko, expert in the field of national security:
Man crossing the border through the airport, in this case, automatically passes border control; his or her information goes through a special database of 'unwanted' individuals or those persons who are dangerous for national security. And therefore all that talk about the fact that some persons may create some problems, especially in Russia, by taking advantage of this visa-free regime are far-fetched.
Citizens of 80 countries can arrive in Belarus through National Airport Minsk for a period of not more than 5 days. These are 39 European countries, including the entire European Union, as well as Brazil, Indonesia, the USA, Canada and Japan. These states are the important partners of Belarus.
The measure was introduced by a presidential decree, which, according to experts, will increase the flow of tourists by 20%. Belarus has already tested visa-free regime with several states.
