Minsk authorities are planning to increase planting areas. Every district of Minsk should have its own ecological trails.
An eco-trail in the city is a place where you can enjoy a unique landscape, listen to birds' singing, including those that are listed as endangered. In the spring of 2017, the second stages of parks named after Mikhail Pavlov and Hugo Chavez will be commissioned. The Slepyanskaya water system will be restored.
Iya Malkina, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus:
This is primarily to maintain parks and gardens, which exist today, in the proper state. Perhaps we will build some additional urban green areas. And, of course, we are working to carefully preserve what already exists.
Particular attention has been recently paid to separate waste collection in Minsk.
By the way, this year Minsk authorities are going to close the landfill Severnyi, since it has already exhausted its possibilities.
