While the world is discussing the results of the Australian Open and the 18th title of Roger Federer at Grand Slam tournaments, we shall remind you about the success of our Uladzimir Ignatik. On Sunday, he celebrated a victory at the Open de Rennes in France.
In the final match the Belarusian won against young Russian Andrey Rublev. The victory was hard for Ignatik. He lost the first set in the tie-break, but then won two sets in a row.
Interestingly, the Belarusian tennis player took part in the tournament as a lucky loser. He lost in the qualifying, but still got a pass to the main draw from the organizers.
Triumph in Rennes allowed Ignatik to rise immediately by 42 positions in the world ranking. Now he is 150th.
