CTV special correspondent gets Belarus' state award

The State Inspectorate for Fauna and Flora Protection under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus has awarded a CTV correspondent and other journalists, who together with the inspectors carried out raids on illegal hunters.

The award was received by CTV special correspondent Olga Petrashevskaya for her story in the TV program Picture of the World on the channel RTR-Belarus. She get a poacher talk. This man had previously shot animals illegally directly on the field of a state-run farm. Olga herself felt the dangers of the night shift.

Olga Petrashevskaya, special correspondent, Minsk Capital Television (CTV):
To film environmental inspectors is not just very interesting, but also convenient. Because these people are working 24 hours a day. All the time, you admire their lack of professional cynicism. You never hear a comment only in the context of the damage or offense. Inspectors feel sorry for the animals, and it is impossible to fake these emotions. It is a pleasure and a great honor to tell about such people, so today it is flattering for me to hold this award in my hands.
