IAEA says no violations during Belarusian NPP construction

A special IAEA mission, which worked in Belarus’ Astravyets all this week, has said there are no violations in the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.

According to experts, Belarus demonstrates responsibility in ensuring nuclear safety. The constructors take into account all possible external threats to the nuclear power plant, including all the major technical challenges in selecting the site.

Grzegorz Rzentkowski, head of IAEA Department of Nuclear Safety:
The final report will be handed over to the Belarusian side within three months. I am pleased to note that the Government announced its intention to publish the report.
