Belarus to seek for additional oil as Russia cut supplies

The reduction of Russian oil supplies to Belarus will be replaced by alternatives, said Belarus President meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko. This question was already raised at the end of 2016.

From an economic point of view, Belarus considered the possibility of oil supplies from the Black Sea and the Mediterranean regions.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus:
We have nothing to hide. We should not hide it from people. There is no emergency but the reduction in Russian oil supplies should be replaced by alternatives. We talked about it at the end of 2016. And we considered these alternatives, and not even considered but already tried some of them; we supplied oil from the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea to our refineries in order to see in practice how beneficial it will be from the economic standpoint.
